Katniss Everdeen
For Katniss, making it to the train was an effort. She had to get through the hell of the Capitol media, pretend like she was passionately in love with Peeta. But really, it was not pretending, she really did love Peeta. Yet as much as she knew that he loved her, he also hated the way she acted. Ever since he found out on the train ride home from the Capitol that she did not truly love him the way that he loved her. Thankfully though, they were on the train together once again. The one place where they did not have to worry about where they acted, they only had to act themselves, and that was what mattered to Katniss.
Sitting there on the train, with Peeta was almost like sitting with a boundary rapped around them. With Effie on the train they still had to act as the star crossed lovers of District Twelve, even though they were something quite different that Katniss could not quite put her finger on. Just sitting on the couch though was so nice right now to Katniss. Of course if she said anything such as 'I love you' to Peeta, he would not believe her, not after the stunt that she pulled a half year ago. They just were doomed as a couple, it was that simple.

Things would have been so much easier if he hadn't been reaped for the Games. Or if she hadn't. Or if neither of them had really. Things would have been exactly the way they had been before the Games. Although maybe if she had let Prim go into the Games then things wouldn't be too normal for her. For all he knew had it not been for the Games she would have been involved with Gale at this very moment. Peeta heaved a sigh quietly as he stood in the middle of his quarters on the train set for District 11. The Victory Tour had finally befallen them, and he was stuck going around for the next few weeks with Katniss, Haymitch, Effie and his prep team around to the districts to remind them that the Games were never really over, and that he was responsible for killing their children. Or at least some of them, although not directly. He had wished more than anything in the past few weeks that the Capitol would have cancelled the Tour. That because they didn't want to cause concern amongst the Districts for having two victors for the first time, they would just forget about the tour. Unfortunately that was not to be.
Which was why he was standing in his room when Effie knocked on his door. "Peeta! I must talk to you and Katniss so get to the living quarters now!" Another sigh escaped his lips and he walked towards the door. He opened it, but Effie was no where to be seen. Probably off to get Katniss. He walked to the living quarters, and was surprised to see Katniss already there. Without making a noise, he walked over to where she sat and took a seat, no words coming out of his mouth quite yet. There were no cameras around, no Capitol people. But he knew that he had to keep up some of the romance with Katniss for Effie's sake. It was going to be hard now, after what happened six months proir, but Peeta knew he could pull it off. Just not now. Just sitting next to her felt like there was an invisible barrier between the two. How desperately he wanted to reach over and brush her hair behind her hair, kiss her, tell her how much he loved her. But he knew he couldn't do any of that, so he settled for the next best thing. "Ready for the Tour then?"

ooc: I'm ignoring effy..., because i can and i want a fun moment Katniss was a bit taken a back, was ready for the tour really the best thing that he could say, it was pathetic. He did love her, she thought so at least, and simply ready for the tour. That did not come across well for Katniss. Of course she loved him too, but he never would believe her on that, would he?
"I guess I am... there is nothing to be ready for, the Capitol does everything." She spoke in a matter of fact tone, there was no reason not to. Nothing important about that dialogue. Almost as if it was instinct though, she kicked her feet up and put her head on his leg, he brought an overwhelming sense of warmth and protection onto her. This really was how she wanted to spend the rest of her life, just here with Peeta. [/blockquote] sorry for this, not my best.
